Tuesday morning

The black patent leather pumps he’d been waiting for all Monday finally appeared not too long before lunch on Tuesday. He twisted the last cap on the wire he was adding in the junction and dusted his hands off. Liam stood and found Tally’s furious, burning eyes boring into him.

“I would see you my office in twenty minutes.”

He looked at his watch. “Twenty minutes is lunch.”

“Office. Twenty minutes.”

“A command, mistress?” He snapped off the words.

“A command, Mister Dunfrees, that you’d better heed if you remember who signs your paychecks here at The Club.”

He cocked his head. “Twenty minutes then.”

She turned smartly and walked away down the hall, disappearing a moment later. Liam looked down at the work he had just started to wrap up. It was the first of what was planned to be six to eight weeks of upgrades in the electrical system before he could start installing the new system. He wondered if he was going to be around to see it through.

Leaning back down, he finished the work on the junction box, bolting it into the beam after making sure all wires inside were secure and connected properly. He would make sure the work he’d done was up to snuff, leaving clear directions what he had done when Tally fired him in twenty minutes.

Maybe it had been cowardly of him, or maybe it had been the best thing for his own ego, but he had walked out of the club the Thursday night before once Tally had drifted off. He gathered his clothes and left, without a word or a note. He had carefully avoided her the next day, flat out ignored her texts and calls all weekend by spending it in a drunken stupor in Houston and crawling back Monday to carefully avoid her again.

Liam was really shocked it took her this long to hunt him down.

But what did she expect of him? She’d called him submissive. She may as well have grabbed his balls and yanked them off too.

There was no denying that he enjoyed everything she had done. It was one of the kinkiest and most amazing nights he’d ever had. Watching her work, and work him over, was every man’s freaking wet dream come to life. And he was good with all of it.

Except being called submissive.

He wasn’t submissive. He wasn’t a guy who wanted to be led around on a leash and used as an ottoman and have his nuts crammed into a forced chastity cage. He was a man. He was male. He wasn’t going to crawl around on his hands and knees to please any woman.

Flowers, chocolates, massages, dinners, extravagant vacations. All things he could and would do. All things he could imagine doing, with no prompting or hints. But her submissive shit? No way, count him out.

Liam grunted as he put the wallboard back in place to cover the hole he’d had to make. He taped it over and made a note to come back and actually spackle it over.
